Thank you for this website, I finally feel like I understand why the way I am. There is a test designed for children that might be more appropriate and it’s meant to be completed by parents. I have had aspie traits as long as I can remember. When I took the tests, I remember sending the links to my parents and asking them to take the test, and answer how they think I should answer. Much of what we study deals with the types of students we might encounter, and as I learnt about Aspergers, I started to think about my own school life, and the traits I have now… Long story short, curiosity took me to the Rdos quiz and then to your blog. BTW, “Quarries and Corridors” mentioned way up there that he was having difficulty finding a video. This is how I understood it, but like I said. Hmmmm lots to think about! I scored 145 aspie and 89 neuro with a result of very likely neurodiverse (Aspie). One of my favorite tests due to the detailed questions. And other personal stuff. I mean, there are definite downsides. Especially the talent thing. That’s such a huge advantage. I particularly identified with what you said in your book about “learning to be autistic”. It’s by far the one I see most quoted by diagnosed aspies as well. I’m such a good person, with a big heart, but today that heart is heavy because I feel like so many people regard me as simply a pain in the ass. Not sure if this is in any way helpful but that’s the process that I’ve gone through over the past two years since first discovering this whole autism thing.
